Syncing contacts
You can sync your Silvabird contacts to your other apps and devices using CardDAV, an open standard that most contacts apps support. Once it's set up, a change you make in one place shows up everywhere. Sign in with a device password rather than your normal account password. If you haven't set this up yet, see Device passwords and turn on the Contacts (CardDAV) permission.
Server settings
- Server URL:
https://carddav.silvabird.com
Most apps only need the server URL and will find your address book on their own. There's no longer path for you to enter by hand.
Signing in
Sign in with:
- Username: your full email address (for example
you@yourdomain.com) - Password: your device password
macOS
Add your account in the Contacts app or through System Settings, using the settings above. Keep in mind that macOS only shows one address book per account. This is a limitation of macOS itself, not of Silvabird.
Android with DAVx5
Android doesn't come with built-in CardDAV support, so you'll need a helper app to sync your contacts. DAVx5 is a popular open-source option, available on Google Play and F-Droid. Install it, add an account using the settings above, and DAVx5 makes your contacts available in the normal Android Contacts app.
Other apps
Any other app that supports CardDAV should work as well. Add a CardDAV account using the server URL and sign-in details above, and it will find your contacts.
